Geo-tagging completed as part of digitizing the patrolling system of Kollam City Police

Geo-tagging has been completed as the first phase of digitizing the patrolling system of the Kollam City Police.

The system has been introduced to effectively monitor criminals, including goondas, in all three sub-divisions under the city police limits. Since all important places within the jurisdiction of each station are tagged on a map, it is possible to reach a specific location with a single click. Additionally, the inclusion of a provision to monitor anti-social elements within the station limits will be very advantageous for police patrolling. This system has been designed to provide police services to all important places such as major junctions, banks, ATMs, places of worship, schools, bus stands, railway stations, beaches, parks, theatres, major institutions, black spots, colonies, and major government offices within each police station limit in the fastest possible way. The main feature of this system is that the police can reach suspected criminals in any part of the city where there is a problem within minutes.
A total of 1,240 locations and 603 habitual offenders, including notorious criminals, in the city have been tagged in the system that has been made available to high-ranking police officers, station house officers, the control room, and patrolling teams. Through this, it is possible to periodically check these locations for the presence of goondas and assess whether they are engaged in any criminal activities. . If the patrolling teams find that a goonda is absent from the location during a check, they can track them down using their mobile location, and even officials unfamiliar with the area can easily identify the operational areas of criminals.
