YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) members on Tuesday released a poster ‘Poru Bata’, the YSRCP campaign against electricity tariff hike scheduled to be held on December 27. YSRCP Rajya Sabha member and Uttarandhra regional coordinator V. Vijaya Sai Reddy and former Minister Gudivada Amarnath were among those who attended the programme.
Speaking to the media, Mr. Vijaya Sai Reddy said that YSRCP is neutral and the party has no affiliation with either NDA or the INDIA block. He said that the party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy had made it clear about the party’s stand on ‘One Nation One Election.’
“On December 27, the YSRCP will organise State-wide protests against the power tariff hike and burdening the people by over ₹15,000 crore, going against the poll promise that there would be no hike in power tariff,” he said.
Mr. Vijaya Sai Reddy said that the power charges would be going up by ₹1.50 per unit from next month and the coalition government has taken loans to the tune of ₹75,000 crore in just six months but not a single rupee was spent on welfare, he said. He also alleged that the NDA government has been failing to implement its poll promises, he added.
