Former Ministers Vellampalli Srinivas, Meruga Nagarjuna and Jogi Ramesh on Sunday released a poster on the State-wide protests to be staged by the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) against the recent hike in power tariffs, on December 27.
On the occasion, they alleged that the increase in tariffs imposed a burden of ₹15,485 crore on the people, and insisted that the Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu failed to keep up on the promises made by him in the run up to the 2024 general elections.
The YSRCP leaders expressed the party’s commitment to fight for people’s welfare and demanded the immediate rollback of the increased power tariffs. The party would organise protests in front of the offices of Discoms throughout the State and submit representations to the officials concerned.
