The District Industries Centre jointly with the district administration released handbooks on the Kalaignar Kaivinai Thittam at the Collectorate here.
Releasing the booklet on the subsidy linked credit scheme tailored for 25 specific trades, Collector K.Shanthi said Dharmapuri had seen 33 applications sanctioned for credit under the Kalaignar Kaivinai Thittam. According to the administration, as of date, over 370 applications were received and 188 applications were recommended for bank credit. Loan sanctions were accorded to 33 applications.
The Kalaignar Kaivinai Thittam envisions bank credit to over 25 listed trades. The scheme entails a maximum subsidy of ₹50,000 or 25% of the loan amount with an upper credit limit of ₹3 lakh. The minimum age limit under the scheme is 35 years of age.
The scheme lists an array of trades eligible for the subsidy linked credit. Brick kiln, pottery, alloy making, carpentry, jewellery making, sculpture making, glass works, construction, boat making, rope, mat making, laundering, music instrument making, weaving and painting are among the array of vocations eligible for bank credit under the scheme.
Special camps had been organised in Harur, Morappur, Pappireddipatti, Palacode, Nallampalli and Dharmapuri to create awareness about the scheme, the Collector said.
