In a tragic incident, a farmer, his wife and their two children, a daughter and a son, reportedly ended their lives, sending shockwaves across the State. The family of four belonged to Diddekunta village, Simhadripuram mandal in Pulivendula Assembly Constituency of Kadapa district in Andhra Pradesh.
“Agriculture Minister Kinjarapu Atchannaidu and district in-charge Minister S. Savitha expressed deep sorrow and called for an immediate inquiry into the incident,” on Saturday (December 28, 2024.)
Minister Atchannaidu directed officials to investigate the circumstances leading to the deaths and report the reasons for this heartbreaking incident. Condemning the loss of the farmer’s family, he emphasised that the government remains committed to addressing the challenges faced by the farming community.
Minister Savitha, expressing her anguish, stated, “The death of a farmer’s family is deeply distressing. It highlights the pressing need to stand by our farmers during these trying times.” She conveyed her condolences to the grieving family members and assured them of the government’s support.
In a phone call with the Kadapa district Collector, Minister Savitha instructed authorities to take immediate action in response to the tragedy. She reiterated the government’s commitment to addressing the plight of farmers and ensuring such incidents do not recur in the future.
