The Nilgiris District Collector Lakshmi Bhavya Tanneeru inspected the renovation of houses for tribal families, among other development works being carried out in Jackanarai, Kunjapannai and Konavakkarai near Kotagiri on Thursday.
In Banagudi near Jackanarai, the Collector inspected renovation of houses for 15 families, at a cumulative cost of ₹10.80 lakh. She also inspected the construction of three houses at ₹10.5 lakh in the same area.
The district administration also stated that a community hall was being constructed under the Namakku Naame Thittam at ₹10 lakh in Araiyoormattam in Kunjapannai. Houses were also being constructed under the Prime Minister’s Janman Scheme at ₹5.73 lakh per house in Kaakagundu and Thalamukkai tribal villages in Kunjapannai. A total of 20 houses are being built at ₹1.14 crore, it was stated.
An anganwadi centre, being constructed under the Anaithu Grama Anna Marumalarchi Thittam at ₹17 lakh was also inspected by the Collector, who was joined during the inspection by other top officials from the Nilgiris district administration.
