Members of the extended Congress Working Committee meeting in Belagavi discussed not only the current issues facing the country, but also introspected on the question of the need to restructure the party organisation, AICC general secretary K.C. Venugopal said in Belagavi on Thursday.
“The next year will be the year of a major organisational revamp. There will be examination of accountability of leaders at all levels. There will be thorough inquiry about the capabilities of all the leaders. Suitable action will follow,” he said.
The Congress will hold a massive public campaign named “Jai Bapu Jai Bheem, Jai Samvidhan.” It will be organised from December 27, 2024, to January 26, 2025. It will include padayatras, seminars, workshops for workers, public meetings, and rallies. This campaign will start immediately in villages, blocks, districts and State levels. This will be led by national State, district, and local leaders.
Another rally – Samvidhan Bachao Rashtriya Padayatra – will be taken up from January 26, 2025, to January 26, 2026. It will be a relay rally. Mr. Venugopal said that one of the major announcements was to hold a AICC delegates at Porbandar in Gujarat, the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi.
