Shivamogga police issue New Year safety measures and guidelines to owners of homestays and resorts

Shivamogga

The Shivamogga district police on Thursday held meetings with owners of homestays, hotels, lodges, and resorts on conducting events to welcome the New Year.

Superintendent of Police G.K. Mithun Kumar stated that the owners should get permission from the local police before organizing any event for the New Year celebrations. The organizers should restrict the number of participants considering the availability of space and ensure safety and security measures.

Owners who have licences to sell liquor should follow the guidelines and rules of the Excise Department. If the participants were not in a position to drive back home, the organizers should arrange for drivers or arrange for their accommodation. The outdoor activities should be completed at 1 a.m.

The organizers should install CCTV cameras at the venue if there are more than 200 people and should collect the details of the participants.

Additional Superintendents of Police (SPs) Anil Kumar Bhoomareddy, A.G. Cariappa, Babu Anjanappa, and other senior officers attended the meeting.
