Lifetime achievement award for OU academic

The Indian Sociological Society conferred Lifetime Achievement Award on professor emeritus Gattu Satyanarayana at the recently held 49th All Indian Sociological Conference at BMU Munjal University in Gurugram.

Mr. Satyanarayana currently works at the department of sociology in Osmania University. During the course of an academic life spanning over four decades, he advanced the discipline with his teaching and research.

Mr. Satyanarayana has published 10 books besides authoring nearly 100 articles on numerous issues of contemporary Indian society. He supervised 12 Ph.D. scholars and 9 M.Phil. students besides completing many research projects funded by the University Grants Commission and the Indian Council of Social Science Research.
