Special court grants bail to ‘Savukku’ Shankar in ganja case


 

The Principal Special Court for Essential Commodities and Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act Cases in Madurai on Tuesday granted bail to YouTuber ‘Savukku’ Shankar.

Special Court Judge M. Chenkamalaselvan granted him bail and directed him to sign at Vepery Cyber Crime police station in Chennai for 15 days.

Hours after the non-bailable warrant was issued against him on December 17, Shankar was arrested by the police in Chennai. Theni Police produced him before the special court in Madurai on December 18.

Though he was granted bail, Shankar could not walk free as he was taken to Chennai in connection with another case booked against him there.
