Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather on Tuesday (December 24, 2024) nominated nine legislators to finalise the draft Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Legislative Assembly of the five-year-old Union Territory, which was carved out from the erstwhile State of J&K in 2019.
Speaker Rather will be the ex-officio chairman of the committee, which was constituted under Rule 363 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly.
The Committee comprises three National Conference (NC) legislators, two from the BJP, one each from the CPI(M) and Congress, and one Independent legislator. It will submit the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business ahead of the Budget session scheduled for January next year.
