The Hyderabad police conducted the 20th phase of the auction for abandoned and unclaimed vehicles at the Goshamahal Police Stadium on Monday.
Around 500 bidders from across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Maharashtra attended the event, resulting in the auction of 1,950 vehicles.
Addressing the bidders, DCP City Armed Reserve (CAR) HQ and chairman of the auction committee Rakshitha Krishnamurthy urged participants to engage in fair bidding practices.
Of the vehicles auctioned, 1,873 were sold in scrap condition, comprising 1,831 two-wheelers, 35 three-wheelers, and seven four-wheelers. This segment alone generated ₹95.20 lakh. Additionally, 77 roadworthy two-wheelers fetched ₹11.67 lakh.
The total revenue from the auction amounted to ₹1.06 crore which will be deposited in the Government Treasury.
