Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate Taj Cochin International Airport on Saturday (December 28). The hotel is built by CIAL and entrusted with the Indian Hotels Company Limited under the iconic Taj brand.
The inauguration of the hotel marks another step forward by the airport authority to diversify activities into niche areas and to transform the aviation sector in the country, according to a press release from CIAL here on Monday (December 23). Cochin International Airport is the fourth busiest airport in the country in terms of handling foreign passengers. CIAL handles over 10 million passengers annually and continues to play a big role in regional economic growth.
The new hotel is located within 500 metres of the airport terminals and is a premium hospitality facility. There are 111 premium rooms and suites, a Taj Club Lounge, a signature restaurant, Bistrot, and an expansive banquet hall with conference facilities. There is also a wellness circle and the hotel rooms provide a great view of the runways and the green surroundings.
CIAL said the Taj Cochin International Airport is another step forward in the vision to integrate world-class infrastructure and hospitality under one roof.
CIAL recently inaugurated 0484 Aero Lounge with 42 rooms, a co-working space, a spa, a gym, and conference facilities.
These facilities and the new projects are part of CIAL’s target to provide 30,000 direct and indirect jobs over the next three years. The projects include the expansion of the international terminal, the development of cutting-edge commercial complexes, innovative green hydrogen initiatives, and an exclusive golf tourism venture.
