“Top Jordanian diplomat Ayman Safadi was due to meet with Syria’s new leader Ahmed al-Sharaa on Monday (December 23, 2024) in Damascus,” Jordan’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

“Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi visits Damascus today (December 23, 2024) and meets with the general commander of the new administration in Syria, Ahmed al Sharaa and several Syrian officials,” the statement said.
