G.O. on nationalising ex- CM’s works handed over to his wife

Minister for Tamil Development, Information and Publicity M.P. Saminathan on Sunday handed over the government order (G.O.) on nationalising literary works of former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi to his wife Rajathi Ammal at her residence in CIT Colony. DMK deputy general secretary Kanimozhi was present.

The Minister told reporters that the G.O. was issued following an announcement by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin. A total of 179 works of Tamil scholars have been nationalised so far, and the State had provided compensation to their heirs. However, family members of Kalaignar Karunanidhi said that they did not need any compensation, he added.

As many as 179 books of the former Chief Minister, including his autobiography Nenjukku Neethi, have been nationalised, the Minister said.
