A bakery in Ramanathapuram caught the eyes of public by placing a full-length cake in the figure of Ratan Tata, the late industrialist, petting a dog.
For the occasion of Christmas, the bakery which had in the previous years placed similar cake structures of Tamil poet Bharathiyar, music director Ilayaraja, Argentine football player Diego Maradona, this year, as a tribute to the most revered businessman Ratan Tata, had placed the cake of his figure.
Sathish Renganathan of Aiswarya bakeries said that as the photos of Tata petting and feeding dogs earned much love from the people, they thought of recreating it in the form of cake.
As it was full structure, they made the cake through royal icing, a mixture of egg white and sugar.
“We cannot use Maida as a regular ingredient as it would not give the consistency to make the cake stand tall. So, the cake cannot be eaten or sold. It is just for giving the public a view of cake art,” he noted.
