Several charges, including spreading religious hatred, were slapped on them following a complaint by the school headmistress S. Jayanthi.

The incident happened on Friday when the teachers and children were celebrating Christmas after the completion of mid-term examinations. The Sangh Parivar team reached the school when the children were cutting a cake as part of the celebrations.

Apart from threatening the teachers and the students, the Sangh Parivar team insisted that no celebrations would be allowed without the Sri Krishna Jayanti celebrations.

The Kerala School Teachers Association (KSTA) protested against the Sangh Parivar action, and demanded stringent action against those involved in threatening the students and teachers. The school PTA executive committee demanded that security for the students and teachers be ensured on the school campus..
