Toddler killed in accident in Nedumangad

A toddler was killed and six persons were injured in a car accident that took place near Nedumangad on Saturday midnight.

The incident occurred at Puthukulangara when the group of seven people, including two children, were travelling from Nedumangad to Parandode, near Aryanad.

The driver is believed to have lost control of the vehicle as it approached a bridge, causing the car to hit a tree and resulting in the rear door opening. This led to the two-and-a-half-year-old child, Rithvik, being thrown out of the vehicle, and the car rolling over him. The child was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body was later taken to the mortuary of the district hospital, while the injured were transported to the Thiruvananthapuram Government Medical College Hospital.

According to the police, the car would have plunged into a river had it not struck the tree. The deceased is survived by his parents, Vishnu and Karishma, from Parandode.
