Two arrested for murder – The Hindu

The Sevur police on Monday arrested Vivek (35) of Thirumalaigoundampalayam and his accomplice for murdering his younger sibling Ashok (30) as a fallout of property dispute.

Initially, the police had recorded the death of Ashok as a case of road accident. However, Vivek had gone absconding in the aftermath of the purported accident and the post-mortem report also indicated a deep head injury inflicted with iron rods. The police arrested Vivek along with Ananthan (36) at Ponganlur and altered the case as murder.

Vivek had reportedly confessed that they had, after committing the murder, flung the body of Ashok as also his two-wheeler by the roadside to make it appear as death by accident. The duo were remanded in judicial custody.
