Two die in accident in Salem

Two construction workers were killed in an accident on Saturday. Sivakumar (40) and Sathish (30), construction workers in Coimbatore district, were heading towards their hometown in Dharmapuri district for Pongal on a two-wheeler. At Karumalaikoodal Railway Station near Mettur, their bike collided with a lorry parked on the roadside, killing them on the spot. Karumalaikoodal police sent the bodies to Mettur Government Hospital for postmortem and registered a case.
