The maximum temperature is likely to be above the normal by two to three degrees celsius in “isolated places” in the State during the next two days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned.
In view of the IMD alert, the Kerala State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA) has advised the people to avoid direct sunlight between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. and remain hydrated at all times.
The KSDMA has urged the people to wear light-coloured, loose-fitting clothes and use footwear and caps/umbrellas when venturing outside. The authority has also urged markets and buildings to adopt preventive measures against fire outbreaks.
Schools have been directed to ensure adequate drinking water supply for the students and ensure that they avoid direct sunlight between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
