Hyderabad city police reviewed security arrangements at the Mahatma Gandhi Bus Stand (MGBS) on Saturday evening ahead of the Sankranti festival rush.
During the inspection, the police officers and the depot manager checked the security measures in place and engaged with passengers to gather feedback on the facilities provided. This year, security at MGBS has been bolstered with the deployment of four additional platoons to ensure a smooth and safe experience for passengers boarding RTC buses.
The police teams, led by DCP (East) Balaswamy, have implemented round-the-clock monitoring of movements at the bus depot and are conducting regular briefings for staff to maintain high levels of vigilance. These measures are part of the broader efforts to manage the festival rush effectively and ensure passenger safety.
The team included J. Narsaiah, Additional DCP, East Zone; K. Shankar, ACP, Sultan Bazar Division; and N. Ravi, Inspector of Police, Afzalgunj. They were accompanied by J. Srilatha, Regional Manager of MGBS.
