East Coast Railway in Visakhapatnam ensures timely availability of clean linen for passengers, say officials


Visakhapatnam unit of East Coast Railway (ECoR) has its share of 17.9 tons per day of the linen requirement out of 49.2 tons per day of the zone. With a combined washing capacity of over 61.9 tons per day across both in-house and outsourced facilities in the ECoR, the railway authorities daily monitors the feedback of the passengers to ensure the timely availability of clean linen for all passengers, according to a release here on Saturday.

EcoR currently operates a fleet of 2,428 LHB coaches (1,327 AC and 1,101 Non-AC) and 938 ICF coaches (239 AC and 699 Non-AC), providing linen in all air-conditioned coaches in line with the Railway Board guidelines. The bedroll sets provided to passengers consist of 2 bed sheets, 1 blanket, 1 face towel, 1 pillow cover, and 1 pillow, the release added.
