Gareth Wynn Owen discusses partnership opportunities with key business leaders, government officials and university representatives from the State

The British Deputy High Commissioner to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Gareth Wynn Owen, has emphasised the United Kingdom (U.K.)’s commitment to enhancing further its already strong relationship with Andhra Pradesh, highlighting the State’s position as a hub for innovation, industrial growth and maritime collaboration.

Speaking at a reception dinner he hosted in Vijayawada on November 27, to ‘strengthen the relationship between the U.K. and Andhra Pradesh, Mr. Owen said, “With our shared values of entrepreneurship, innovation and sustainable growth, there is tremendous scope to build upon the existing business and government connections between the U.K. and Andhra Pradesh. The event is a step towards creating stronger partnerships that can drive prosperity, clean growth and deeper people-to-people links.”

The event brought together key business leaders, government officials and university representatives from across the State, with whom Mr. Owen discussed the growing potential of business partnerships, especially in sectors like technology, healthcare and renewable energy.

Preceding the reception, the Deputy High Commissioner, in association with the Andhra Pradesh Higher Education Vice-Chairman K. Rama Mohan Rao, hosted a roundtable for senior leadership from 12 public and private universities, in Andhra Pradesh and select universities from the United Kingdom, to discuss partnership opportunities.
