Hands-free magnifier donated to Adivasi youth aspiring to be teacher

Jainoor police on Thursday donated a hands-free magnifier, an optical device, to a partially visually challenged Adivasi youth, Atram Prabhakar, an aspiring teacher, from the remote Marlavai village in the tribal heartland of Komaram Bheem Asifabad district.

Despite his partial visual impairment, Atram Prabhakar had qualified in the Telangana Teacher Eligibility Test (TG TET). The Adivasi youth is aiming to become a government school teacher against all odds, sources said. To help him prepare well for the teachers’ recruitment exam and pursue his goal, the local police donated the magnifying reading glass set to the Adivasi youth. Deputy Superintendent of Police, Asifabad, A Karunakar, handed over the optical device to Prabhakar at the Haimendorf Memorial Library in Marlavai village on Thursday. Jainoor Circle Inspector of Police E Ramesh, Sub-Inspector of Police Rama Rao, and others were present.
