Man run over by train


A man was run over by ‘Golden Chariot’, a luxury train, at Vathuruthy along the Harbour Terminus line on Tuesday around 9 a.m.

The deceased was identified as Kamalesh, 43, of Uttar Pradesh, who worked as a security guard. Reportedly, he was returning to his house at Vathuruthy from Naval Base after night shift when he was run over by the train carrying tourists from Karnataka.

Meanwhile, the Railways said the Harbour Terminus line was live and operational and cautioned the public against trespassing on railway property.

The body was shifted to the Ernakulam General Hospital.
