Obulapuram visit case: TDP leaders from A.P., TG appear in Vijayawada court 


Seventeen TDP leaders from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, including K. Atchannaidu (Minister for Agriculture), Nimmakayala Chinarajappa, Padala Aruna, Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, N. Amarnath Reddy, Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Nagam Janardhan Reddy and Chinnam Babu Ramesh appeared in the Special Court for MPs and MLAs here in the case registered against them during their visit to the Obulapuram iron ore mines in 2007.

The court adjourned the matter for hearing on January 8, 2025.

Leaders of the TDP, which was in the opposition, went to Rayadurg and from there to the mines at Obulapuram in D. Hirehal mandal of Anantapur district on July 21, 2007. The police had taken them into custody at that time for visiting the mines in spite of restrictions that were in place. The leaders claimed to have not committed any wrong.
